Every person’s journey is unique, formed by their own circumstances, hopes, and needs. At Flowing River Therapy, I draw on a rich toolbox of training, experience, and wisdom to offer you an individualised, supportive, and empowering experience. My role is to walk alongside you, helping you reconnect with your strengths and open pathways for healing and transformation.

I am a provisional member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC) and trained in a number of therapeutic approaches, which I weave together to best support your personal journey.

I am an ACC-approved therapist for adults with Sensitive Claims and offer both individual therapy and group-based retreats.

Counselling and Coaching for individuals and couples

Counselling is a collaborative process where we work together to explore challenges, identify goals, and find new ways of moving forward. This may involve:

  • Strengthening communication and coping skills
  • Building self-esteem
  • Transforming unhelpful patterns of behaviour
  • Supporting overall mental and emotional wellbeing

In addition to working with individuals, I also support couples and families. With my background in Systemic Family Therapy (Netherlands), I bring a specialist focus to navigating complex relationship dynamics.

Coaching sessions, on the other hand, are about unlocking your potential—opening doors to new possibilities and supporting your personal growth.

Creative Arts Therapy and the Art of Allowing

I hold a BA in Art Therapy (1997) and offer Creative Arts Therapy as an expressive way of exploring emotions, thoughts, and experiences. Through art-making, you can connect with yourself beyond words, with emotional regulation, healing, and insight.

I am also a Certified Art of Allowing Facilitator (2018), guiding an intuitive painting process that encourages you to create from your own inner wisdom. This process is not about making “perfect art,” but about allowing colours, shapes, and movement to reflect your inner layers and bring forward new awareness.

Synergetic Play Therapy

As one of only four certified Synergetic Play Therapists in New Zealand (2021), I offer this research-based modality that combines play with nervous system regulation, interpersonal neurobiology, attachment, mindfulness, and therapist authenticity.

While designed primarily for children—especially those who have experienced trauma—it is also highly effective with adults. Together, we notice and name body sensations and emotions as they arise. By modelling regulation, I provide a safe template that allows clients to learn self-regulation skills and build resilience.

Emotional Healing Sessions

I also offer Emotional Healing Processes inspired by Possibility Management, which support transformational change. These sessions create a bridge from old patterns of reactivity towards a more authentic and empowered sense of self.

This approach sees healing as an initiation process into authentic adulthood—clearing old emotional wounds and creating space for new possibilities. It requires a willingness to consciously feel and engage, opening the way to deep personal growth and expanded choice in life.

At Flowing River Therapy, the guiding intention is always to meet you where you are, with compassion and authenticity, and to support your journey toward wholeness, resilience, and meaningful change.
